     Major Hon. Alastair John George Malcolm Napier was born on 9 June 1909 at Wokingham, Berkshire, England.^1,2 He was the son of Francis Edward Basil Napier, 12th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Hon. Clarice Jessie Evelyn Hamilton.³ He married Geraldine Dunlop, daughter of James Dunlop, on 6 May 1933.¹ He died on 29 February 1984 at age 74 at Wetheral, Cumberland, England.^1,2
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, England.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1947.¹ He was with the Kenya Minstry of Works between 1950 and 1965.¹

     James Dunlop lived at The Bield, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Geraldine Dunlop was the daughter of James Dunlop.² She married Major Hon. Alastair John George Malcolm Napier, son of Francis Edward Basil Napier, 12th Lord Napier of Merchistoun and Hon. Clarice Jessie Evelyn Hamilton, on 6 May 1933.¹ She died in 1983.¹
