     William le Latimer, 1st/2nd Lord Latimer (of Corby) was born circa 1276.1 He was the son of William le Latimer, 1st Lord Latimer (of Corby) and Alice Ledet.1 He married, firstly, Lucy de Thweng, daughter of Robert de Thweng, before 20 April 1295.2 He and Lucy de Thweng were divorced before 22 July 1312.2 He married, secondly, Sibyl de Fourneaux, daughter of Sir Richard de Fourneaux, before 18 August 1314.2 He died on 27 February 1326/27.3
     He was created 1st Lord Latimer, of Corby [England by writ] on 6 February 1298/99, nearly a year before his father's first recorded writ of summons, although the father was probably summoned 9 years earlier.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Latimer, of Corby [E., 1290] on 5 December 1304.1 He fought in the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, where he was captured and held by Bothwell until he was ransomed eight months later.1 He fought in the Battle of Boroughbridge on 16 March 1321/22, against his rebellious cousin, Thomas, Earl of Lancaster.1 He held the office of Keeper of York in January 1322/23.1 He was an Envoy to negotiate peace with Scotland in 1324.1
