     Hector Edward Macneil, 22nd of Barra was born Barra on 15 September 1795.1 He was the son of General Roderick Macneil, 21st of Barra and Isabella Brownlow.2 He married Elizabeth Mercereau in 1815.1 He died on 23 December 1880 at age 85, with three younger sons (Robinson.1
      Gilleon) and four daughters.1 George.1
