     Roderick ‘The Resolute' Macneil, 20th of Barra is the son of Roderick Macneil, 19th of Barra and Alice Macleod.2 He married Anne Macneil, daughter of Hector Macneil 3rd of Vaslan.1
     He was Lieutenant in Fraser's Hldrs and with Donald Macdonald of Clanranald went with his regt to Canada during war with the French.1 In 1759 married 2nd Anne, daughter of Donald Macneil 1st of Vatersay, and was killed with Wolfe at Heights of Abraham, Quebec.1
