     He was educated The Friends Sch Hobart and Tasmanian College of Advanced Educn (BSc).1 Industrial Chemist.1 He was Ag Manager, Cncllr: Municipality of Brighton, Tasmania , Royal Ag Society of Tasmania 1986–94, Royal Nat/l Ag and Pastoral Society 1993–95 in 1986.1 On 7 August 2000 succeeded his father by the latter's resignation and nomination under seal of Lord Lyon.1
