     Cyril MacDermot was born on 4 July 1902.1 He was the son of Charles Edward MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Caroline Mary Whyte.2 He died on 29 June 1904 at age 1.1

     Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin was born on 14 June 1906.1 He was the son of Charles Edward MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Caroline Mary Whyte.2 He married Betty Steel, daughter of J. W. Steel, on 10 May 1934.1 He died on 27 August 1989 at age 83.1
     He was educated at Stonyhurst College, Blackburn, Lancashire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1 He was with the Diplomatic Service between 1929 and 1965.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1947.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1954.1 He was Minister to Romania between 1954 and 1956.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Indonesia between 1956 and 1959.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1961.1 He held the office of Ambassador to Thailand between 1961 and 1965.1

     Niall Anthony MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin was born on 25 April 1935.1 He was the son of Sir Dermot Francis MacDermot, The MacDermot, Prince of Coolavin and Betty Steel.2 He married Janet Frost, daughter of W. H. J. Frost, on 9 May 1959.1 He died on 19 February 2003 at age 67.1
     He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, England.1 He was director of Rupert Neve & Company at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.1 He retired from the military in 1970, with the rank of Squadron Leader, late of the Royal Air Force.1
