Augusta Lees was the daughter of Major Henry Lees and Eliza Maria McKay.2 She married Matthew Charles Brodie MacAlister, 3rd of Genbarr and Cour, son of Keith MacAlister, 2nd of Glenbarr and Cour and Mary Agatha Campbell, on 11 August 1869.2 She died in 1898.1

Ranald MacDonald Brodie MacAlister of Glenbarr was born in 1903.1 He was the son of Matthew Charles Brodie MacAlister, 3rd of Genbarr and Cour and Edith Margaret Dudgeon.2 He married Hilda Mary Best, daughter of Captain William Best and Constance Adela Wingfield, on 15 June 1935.2 He died in 1980.1

Captain William Best was born on 24 June 1874.2 He is the son of Captain Hon. John Charles Best and Mary Wagstaff.2 He married Constance Adela Wingfield, daughter of Colonel Charles Wingfield, on 9 July 1903.2 He died on 18 April 1950 at age 75.2
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Welch Fusiliers.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Denbighshire.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Denbighshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Denbighshire in 1928.2 He lived at Plâs yn Vivod, Llangollen, Wales.1
