     Sir Walter Roper Lawrence was born on 9 February 1857 at Moreton, Herefordshire, England.2 He was the son of George Lawrence and Catherine Lewis.3,2 He married Lilian Gertrude James, daughter of John Gwynne James and Elizabeth Poole, on 18 March 1885.1 He died on 25 May 1940 at age 83.1
     He was memb Cncl –09, served in the Indian Civil Service 1877–97, Under Sec and Officiating Sec Indian Government 1887–89, Settlement Commissioner of Kashmir 1889–95, Agent in Ch to Duke of Bedford 1895–98, Private Sec to Viceroy India 1898–1903, Ch of S India 1907.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Commander, Order of the Indian Empire (G.C.I.E.) in 1906.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lawrence on 13 July 1906.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1917.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1918.1

     Lilian Gertrude James was born in 1858.2 She was the daughter of John Gwynne James and Elizabeth Poole.3,2 She married Sir Walter Roper Lawrence, son of George Lawrence and Catherine Lewis, on 18 March 1885.1 She died on 18 December 1929.1
     She lived Aylstone Hill.1 Herefs.1 From 18 March 1885, her married name became Lawrence.2

     John Going Versturme-Bunbury was born on 12 August 1918 at Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.1 He was the son of J. C. P. Versturme-Bunbury and Dorothy Going.1 He died on 17 August 1943 at age 25 at Falcon Field, Mesa City, Arizona, U.S.A., killed in a training accident when his airplane collided with anotehr mid-air.1
     He gained the rank of Leading Aircraftman in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.1

     He was educated Wellington and Balliol College Oxford.3 He was Captain Res Offrs Coldstream Guards WW I (twice wounded).3 Henry Walter Neville Lawrence usually went by his middle name of Neville.3 In 1949 High Sheriff Surrey.3
