     Edward Lyon Lakin was born on 13 August 1879.1 He was the son of Sir Michael Henry Lakin, 1st Bt. and Alice Emma Dewing.2 He married Dorothy Barklie McCalmont, daughter of Colonel Barklie Cairns McCalmont and Catherine Madeline de Courcy Stretton, on 5 February 1912.1 He died on 10 September 1922 at age 43.1

Colonel Barklie Cairns McCalmont1

     Colonel Barklie Cairns McCalmont was born in 1860 at South Stoneham, Hampshire, England.2 He was the son of Reverend Thomas McCalmont. He married, firstly, Catherine Madeline de Courcy Stretton, daughter of Lt.-Col. Severus William Lynam Stretton and Hon. Catherine Adela de Courcy, circa 1885.2 He married, secondly, Sophia M. E. Phelps in 1916.2 He died in 1929.2
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

     Dorothy Barklie McCalmont was born in 1891 at Warwickshire, England.2 She was the daughter of Colonel Barklie Cairns McCalmont and Catherine Madeline de Courcy Stretton.3,2 She married Edward Lyon Lakin, son of Sir Michael Henry Lakin, 1st Bt. and Alice Emma Dewing, on 5 February 1912.1 She died on 1 January 1969.
     From 5 February 1912, her married name became Lakin. On 18 March 1932 her name was legally changed to Dorothy Barklie Liddell by Deed Poll.3

     Lt.-Cdr. Richard Barklie Lakin was born on 8 October 1914.1 He was the son of Edward Lyon Lakin and Dorothy Barklie McCalmont.2 He married, firstly, Pamela Mary Helen Jackson-Taylor, daughter of G/Capt. Philip Jackson-Taylor, on 17 October 1936.1 He married, secondly, Pansy Myra Edith Bonham-Carter, daughter of Colonel Algernon Lothian Bonham-Carter, in 1987.2 He died on 1 March 2011 at age 96.3
     Lt.-Cdr. Richard Barklie Lakin usually went by his middle name of Barklie.4 He was educated at Royal Naval College, Darmouth, Devon, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.1 He fought in the Second World War, and he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the U.S. Legion of Merit.2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) and bar.1 He lived in 2003 at Seaview House, Seaview, Isle of Wight, EnglandG.1

Richard Barklie Lakin and Pamela Mary Helen Jackson-Taylor.2 He married, firstly, Gillian Claire Baily, daughter of Peter Baily and Honor Carey, on 18 April 1964.1 He and Gillian Claire Baily were divorced in 1997.1 He married, secondly, Ann Helen Minchin, daughter of Robert Beman Minchin, on 16 October 2000.1 He and Ann Helen Minchin were divorced in 2004.3 He died on 17 October 2016 at age 78 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.4
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 11th Hussars.1 He lived in 2003 at St. Leonards, New South Wales, AustraliaG.1
