     Cochrane Chalmers was the daughter of James Chalmers of Fingland.2 She married Sir Hector Mackenzie of Gairloch, 4th Bt., son of Sir Alexander Mackenzie of Gairloch, 3rd Bt. and Margaret Mackenzie, on 29 July 1778.1 She and Sir Hector Mackenzie of Gairloch, 4th Bt. were divorced on 22 April 1796.1 She died in 1838.3
      From 29 July 1778, her married name became Mackenzie.

     Sir Kenneth Smith Mackenzie of Gairloch, 6th Bt. was born on 25 May 1832.1 He was the son of Sir Francis Alexander Mackenzie of Gairloch, 5th Bt. and Kythé Caroline Wright.2 He married Eila Frederica Campbell, daughter of Walter Frederick Campbell, 5th of Islay and of Woodhall and Catherine Cole, on 11 December 1860.1 He died on 9 February 1900 at age 67.1
     He succeeded to the title of 6th Baronet Mackenzie, of Gairloch [N.S., 1703] on 2 June 1843.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Ross-shire.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Ross-shire between 1881 and 1899.1
