     Mary Stewart was the daughter of Robert Hathorn Stewart of Physgill and Isabella Agnew.1 She married Rear-Admiral James Hay, son of Major James Hay and Dorothea Hay, on 10 November 1824.1 She died on 26 April 1880.1
     From 10 November 1824, her married name became Hay.1

     He was the Governor between 1887 and 1889 at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, EnglandG.1 He was Colonel Commandant of the Royal Artillery.1 He was President of the Ordnance Commission between 1889 and 1891.1 He was Director of Artillery between 1891 and 1895.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.)1
