     Lt.-Cdr. Quintin des Clayes was born on 14 March 1926.¹ He was the son of Major Camille des Clayes and Winifred Lucy Hogg.¹ He married Monica Mary Westmacott in 1951.¹ He died on 7 November 2018 at age 92.²
     He was educated at Radley College, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Instructor Commander in 1963 in the Royal Navy.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹

     Monica Mary Westmacott married Lt.-Cdr. Quintin des Clayes, son of Major Camille des Clayes and Winifred Lucy Hogg, in 1951.¹ She died on 22 November 2016.²
     From 1951, her married name became des Clayes.¹
