     She was Section Officer, Women's Auxiliary Air Force. During the Second World War, and was mentioned in despatches.¹ She was decorated with the award of the U.S. Bronze Star.¹ From 29 February 1952, her married name became Shakespeare.

Robert William Hare and Helen Mary Atkinson, on 29 February 1952.² He died in 1980.²

(Lib) Wellingborough 1922–23 and Norwich 1929–45, Private Sec to PM 1921–22, Jr Lord Treasury and Lib Nat Ch Whip 1931–32, Parly Sec Minister Health in 1921.² On 11 July 1942 so created.² He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1945.²

     Nancy Violet Hare was born on 9 November 1915.¹ She was the daughter of Brig.-Gen. Robert William Hare and Helen Mary Atkinson.² She married Sir John Meredith Temple on 17 November 1942.¹ She died on 5 July 1999 at age 83.¹
      From 17 November 1942, her married name became Temple.
