     Herbert George Hope was born on 23 May 1875.1 He was the son of Hon. Louis Hope and Susan Frances Sophia Dumaresq.1 He married May Winifred Sheppee, daughter of Lt.-Col. F. F. Sheppee, in 1920.2 He died on 19 December 1956 at age 81.1
     He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1918.2
