Sir Reginald Hardy, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 September 1848.1 He was the son of Sir John Hardy, 1st Bt. and Laura Holbech.2 He married Lucy Marion Gladstone, daughter of Captain John Neilson Gladstone and Elizabeth Honoria Bateson, on 29 April 1876.1 He died on 6 August 1938 at age 89.3
He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1873 entitled to practice as a barrister.1 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Hardy, of Dunstall Hall, co. Stafford [U.K., 1876] on 9 July 1888.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1893.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1 He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the Staffordshire Imperal Yeomanry.3

Lucy Marion Gladstone was the daughter of Captain John Neilson Gladstone and Elizabeth Honoria Bateson.2 She married Sir Reginald Hardy, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Hardy, 1st Bt. and Laura Holbech, on 29 April 1876.1 She died on 4 October 1921.1

Eric John Hardy was born on 6 December 1884.1 He was the son of Sir Reginald Hardy, 2nd Bt. and Lucy Marion Gladstone.2 He died on 10 December 1965 at age 81, unmarried.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant between 1903 and 1905 in the service of the 4th Battalion, North Staffordshire Regiment.1 He gained the rank of Major between 1905 and 1925 in the service of the Royal Scots Guards.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Member of the Staffordshire County Council between 1937 and 1952.1 He was Deputy Chairmam of the Quarter Sessions, Staffordshire between 1939 and 1956.1
