     Reverend Hugh Hanmer was born on 21 January 1862.¹ He was the son of Reverend Henry Hanmer and Sybella Elizabeth Gordon.² He married Margaret Maude Ethelston, daughter of Robert Peel Ethelston, on 22 August 1894.¹ He died on 21 November 1939 at age 77.¹
     He graduated from St. John's College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He was the Rector between 1927 and 1931 at Selattyn, Shropshire, England.¹ He was Rural Dean of Oswestry between 1927 and 1934.¹

     Robert Peel Ethelston lived at Hinton, Shropshire, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹
