Rear-Admiral William Charles Chamberlain was born on 21 April 1818.2,3 He was the son of Sir Henry Chamberlain, 1st Bt. and Anne Eugenia Morgan.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Jane Hall, daughter of Captain Basil Hall and Margaret Hunter, on 19 June 1845.1 He married, secondly, Sarah Morgan Holroyd, daughter of Thomas Holroyd, on 29 October 1872.4 He died on 27 February 1878 at age 59.1
