     Gladys Hardy is the daughter of Daniel Montague Hardy.2 She married, secondly, Sir William Garthwaite, 1st Bt., son of William Garthwaite, on 4 February 1937.1
     Her married name became Galie.2 From 4 February 1937, her married name became Garthwaite.1

     From 5 June 1800, her married name became Smith.1

     Sir William Mark Charles Garthwaite, 3rd Bt. was born on 4 November 1946.1 He was the son of Sir William Francis Cuthbert Garthwaite, 2nd Bt. and Patricia Beatrice Eden Neate.2 He married Victoria Lisette Tuzo, daughter of Sir General Harry Tuzo, in 1979.1 He died on 23 March 2024 at age 77.3
     Sir William Mark Charles Garthwaite, 3rd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Mark.1 He was educated at Gordonstoun School, Elgin, Morayshire, ScotlandG.1 He graduated from University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.G, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)1 He was with Seascope Insurance Services (Marine Insurance Brokers) between 1970 and 1987.1 He was with Brandram and Garthwaite Ltd between 1987 and 1988.2 He was director of Regis Low Ltd, Lloyd's Brokers in 1988.1 He was director of Steel Burrill Jones Ltd between 1992 and 1997.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Garthwaite, of Durham [U.K., 1919] on 15 December 1993.1 He was a director of Willis Ltd in 1997.1 He lived in 2003 at 3 Hazlewell Road, London, EnglandG.1

     Sir Philip d'Ambrumenil was born on 28 December 1886 at Hampstead, London, England.2 He was the son of Benerice Henry d'Ambrumenil and Isabella Thompson.2 He married Gertrude Merriel Bailey on 30 November 1921 at The Parish Church, St. James, Westminster, London, England.3 He died on 19 September 1974 at age 87 at Westminster, London, England.2
     He lived at St. James's Court, Buckingham Gate, London, EnglandG.1 He was chairman of Lloyd's.3

     Patricia Merriel d'Ambrumenil was born circa 1924.2 She was the daughter of Sir Philip d'Ambrumenil and Gertrude Merriel Bailey.3,2 She married Sir William Francis Cuthbert Garthwaite, 2nd Bt., son of Sir William Garthwaite, 1st Bt. and Francesca Margharita Parfett, on 4 April 1957.1 She died on 9 April 2012.2
     From 4 April 1957, her married name became Garthwaite.
