     Catherine Phipps is the daughter of Sir Constantine Phipps.² She married Henry Ingoldsby, son of Sir Henry Ingoldsby, 1st Bt. and Anne Waller.¹

     Sir Constantine Phipps was baptised on 12 December 1658.¹ He was the son of Francis Phipps and Anne Sharpe.¹ He married Catherine Sawyer, daughter of George Sawyer, on 10 October 1684.¹ He died on 9 October 1723 at age 64.¹
     He was a practising barrister in 1684.¹ He was agent for New England between 1701 and 1710.¹ He held the office of Bencher in 1706.¹ He was agent for St. Kitts in 1709.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1710.¹ He held the office of Lord Chancellor [Ireland] between 1710 and 1714.¹ He had nine other children.¹

     Catherine Sawyer was the daughter of George Sawyer.¹ She married Sir Constantine Phipps, son of Francis Phipps and Anne Sharpe, on 10 October 1684.¹ She died on 30 October 1728.¹
     From 10 October 1684, her married name became Phipps.¹
