Sir William Thomas Charles Skyrme was born on 20 March 1913.2 He was the son of Charles George Skyrme.3 He married, firstly, Hon. Barbara Suzanne Lyle, daughter of Charles Ernest Leonard Lyle, 1st Baron Lyle of Westbourne and Edith Louise Levy, on 30 April 1938.3 He and Hon. Barbara Suzanne Lyle were divorced in 1953.3 He married, firstly, Mary Leaning in 1957.2 He died on 24 January 2002 at age 88.2
He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1 Sir William Thomas Charles Skyrme usually went by his middle name of Thomas.
