     John de Montfort, 1st Lord Montfort was born circa 1263.2 He was the son of Sir Piers de Montfort and Maud de la Mare.1,3 He married Alice de Plaunch, daughter of William de Plaunch, between 1286 and 1289.2 He died before 11 May 1296.4,2
     He was created 1st Lord Montfort [England by writ] on 24 June 1295.2

     He gained the title of 3rd Lord Montfort [E., 1295].
