     Montague Joseph Feilden was born on 8 May 1816.1 He was the son of Sir William Feilden, 1st Bt. and Mary Haughton Jackson.2 He married, firstly, Mary Anne Valentine, daughter of William Valentine, on 8 January 1846.1 He married, secondly, Alice Thoume, daughter of James Thoume, on 26 October 1865.1 He died on 17 October 1898 at age 82.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Blackburn between 1853 and 1857.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.1 He lived at The Chain, Preston, Lancashire, England.1
