He married, firstly, Jean Violet Douglas, daughter of Lt.-Col. Archibald Vivian Campbell Douglas and Elizabeth Cicely Bunsen, on 5 March 1953. He married, secondly, Caroline Mary Lascelles, daughter of Rt. Hon. Sir Alan Frederick Lascelles and Hon. Joan Frances Vere Thesiger, in 1985.1
     Hon. David Hervey Erskine held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He lived at Felsham, Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.3
