     Martin Erskine Welford is the son of Hylton Welford.² He married Julia Anna Sawers, daughter of Colonel Charles Maxwell Orr Sawers and Winifred Erskine, on 30 April 1949.¹

     Christopher Charles Welford was born on 23 November 1951.¹ He is the son of Martin Erskine Welford and Julia Anna Sawers.²

     Stephen Maxwell Welford was born on 16 January 1956.¹ He is the son of Martin Erskine Welford and Julia Anna Sawers.²

     From 1 July 1926, her married name became Cairns.
