Maj.-Gen. Sir Henry Marion Durand was born on 6 November 1812.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Henry Percy and Marion Durand.2 He married, firstly, Annie McCaskill, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir John McCaskill, on 28 March 1843.1 He married, secondly, Emily Augusta Allnatt on 23 August 1859.1 He died on 1 January 1871 at age 58.3
