     Alexander Sutherland of Duffus was the son of William Sutherland of Duffus and Elizabeth Stewart.2 He married Janet Grant, daughter of James Grant, 3rd of Freuchie and Elizabeth Forbes, on 26 January 1552/53.2 He died circa 1570.1

     Sir William Sinclair of Dunbeath, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir James Sinclair of Dunbeath, 1st Bt. and Isabel Muir.2 He married Charlotte Dunbar, daughter of Sir James Dunbar of Hempriggs, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Dunbar, on 23 December 1731.2 He died on 2 August 1767.1
     He sold Dunbeath to William Sinclair of Freswick.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Sinclair, of Dunbeath, co. Caithness [N.S., 1704] on 28 December 1742.2 He was Baptist Minister at Keiss, ScotlandG.2 He was Baptist Minister in 1755 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2

     William Sutherland, 9th of Duffus was the son of Alexander Sutherland of Duffus and Janet Grant.2 He married by contract, firstly, Lady Margaret Sinclair, daughter of George Sinclair, 4th Earl of Caithness and Lady Elizabeth Graham, on 13 October 1579.1 He and Lady Margaret Sinclair were divorced.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Mackintosh, daughter of William Mackintosh, 15th of Mackintosh and Margaret Ogilvie, in 1604.1 He died in 1616.1
