     Major Jack Harvey Gage was born on 2 April 1907.1 He is the son of Robert Harvey Gage and Minnie Sibyl Beadsworth.2 He married, firstly, Muriel Rundle Nattle, daughter of Dr. William Nattle, on 21 November 1928.2 He and Muriel Rundle Nattle were divorced in 1935.1 He married, secondly, Helen Alessandra Hatrick, daughter of Dr. Charles Dainty Hatrick, on 2 October 1935.1
     He was educated at Rugby School, Rugby, Warwickshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Campbell College, Belfast, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 Between 1925 and 1927 he played Rugby Football for Ireland.1 He was educated at Queen's University, Belfast, County Antrim, IrelandG.1 He was with the Imperial Service, Basutoland between 1928 and 1936.1 From 1932 to 1933 he played Rugby Football for South Africa.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Raiding Support Regiment, operating with Andartes in Greece behind enemy lines.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944.1 He was an insurance underwriter.1 He was a sports editor and broadcaster.1 He wrote the book Greek Adventure.1 He lived in 1976 at Rathlin, Cypress Road, Newlands, Cape Province, South AfricaG.1
