     Sir Ashley Charles Gibbs Ponsonby, 2nd Bt. was born on 21 February 1921.2 He was the son of Colonel Sir Charles Edward Ponsonby, 1st Bt. and Hon. Winifred Marian Gibbs.2 He married Lady Martha Butler, daughter of James Arthur Norman Butler, 6th Marquess of Ormonde and Jessie Carlos Clarke, on 14 September 1950.2 He died on 15 June 2010 at age 89.3
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was educated at Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Captain in 1943 in the Coldstream Guards.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.2 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.2 He was on the Staff of the Bermuda Garrison between 1945 and 1946.2 He was managing director of J. Henry Schroder Wagg.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Oxfordshire between 1974 and 1980.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Ponsonby, of Wootton, co. Oxford [U.K., 1956] in 1976.2 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire between 1980 and 1996.2 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1989.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1993.2 He lived in 2003 at Grim's Dyke Farm, Woodstock, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.2

     Colonel Sir Charles Edward Ponsonby, 1st Bt. was born on 2 September 1879.2 He was the son of Hon. Edwin Charles William Ponsonby and Emily Dora Coope.3 He married Hon. Winifred Marian Gibbs, daughter of Herbert Cokayne Gibbs, 1st Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Anna Maria Durant, on 23 July 1912.1 He died in 1976.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1901 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.2 He was awarded the Croix de Guerre.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2 He was Colonel and Brevet Colonel of the 97th (Kent Yeomanry) Field Brigade, Royal Artillery between 1930 and 1936.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Oxfordshire in 1944.2 He was created 1st Baronet Ponsonby, of Wootton, co. Oxford [U.K.] on 27 January 1956.1

     Hon. Winifred Marian Gibbs was born in 1887.2 She was the daughter of Herbert Cokayne Gibbs, 1st Baron Hunsdon of Hunsdon and Anna Maria Durant.1 She married Colonel Sir Charles Edward Ponsonby, 1st Bt., son of Hon. Edwin Charles William Ponsonby and Emily Dora Coope, on 23 July 1912.1 She died in 1984.3
     Her married name became Ponsonby. She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1

     Charles de Lorraine-Harcourt-Armagnac was born in 1684. He was the son of Louis I, Duc de Lorraine-Harcourt-Armagnac and Catherine de Neufville de Villeroy. He married Françoise Adelaide de Noailles in 1717. He and Françoise Adelaide de Noailles were divorced between 1721 and 1725. He died in 1751.

She married Charles de Lorraine-Harcourt-Armagnac, son of Louis I, Duc de Lorraine-Harcourt-Armagnac and Catherine de Neufville de Villeroy, in 1717. She and Charles de Lorraine-Harcourt-Armagnac were divorced between 1721 and 1725. She died in 1776.

     Major Sir Arthur Lindsay Grant of Monymush and Cullen, 11th Bt. was born on 8 September 1911.2 He was the son of Colonel Sir Arthur Grant of Monymusk, 10th Bt. and Evelyn Alice Lindsay Wood.2 He married Priscilla Jean Fortescue Thomson, Baroness Tweedsmuir of Belhelvie, daughter of Brigadier Alan Fortescue Thomson and Edythe Mary Unwin, on 14 May 1934.2 He died on 18 July 1944 at age 32 at Normandy, FranceG, killed in action.
     He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Grant, of Monymusk and Cullen, Buchan [N.S., 1705] on 21 June 1931.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Aberdeenshire.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches posthumously (1945.)2
