     Major Michael Charles Norman D'Arcy was born on 26 June 1922.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Conyers D'Arcy and Noel Patricia Wakefield.2 He married Jane Elizabeth Battershill, daughter of Sir William Denis Battershill, on 21 November 1951.2 He died on 1 July 2013 at age 91.3
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.2 He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.2 He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Artillery.2 He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1945 and 1948.2 He fought in the Malayan Emergency between 1958 and 1959.2 He gained the rank of officer in 1965 in the Australian Army.2 He lived in 1976 at 132 Carruthers Street, Curtin, Canberra, A.C.T., AustraliaG.2

     Martin D'Arcy was the son of James D'Arcy and Elizabeth Martyn.2 He married Christian Martin, daughter of Richard Martin.1 He died on 3 January 1636 at Dublin Gaol, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, where he had been imprisoned by Lord Strafford, from whom he had suffered much persecution.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff of County Galway.1
