William John Martin was born on 25 January 1853.1 He was the son of John Martin and Augusta Louisa Hopkins.1 He married Emily Mary Letitia Hamilton, daughter of William Edmond Hamilton, on 15 October 1878.1 He died on 19 December 1926 at age 73.1
