     Sir John Douglas Don-Wauchope of Newton Don, 9th Bt. was born on 15 September 1859.1 He was the son of Sir John Don-Wauchope of Newton Don, 8th Bt. and Bethia Hamilton Buchanan.2 He died on 28 April 1951 at age 91, unmarried.1
     Sir John Douglas Don-Wauchope of Newton Don, 9th Bt. gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Scots.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Midlothian.1 He graduated from Trin College Cambridge Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) ) in 1891.1 He succeeded to the title of 9th Baronet Don, of Newton Don [N.S., 1667] on 12 December 1893.1
