     Eleanor Joan Griffith was born on 13 February 1931 at The Manor House, Winsley, Wiltshire, England.² She was the daughter of Captain Richard Glyn Griffith and Eleanor Gertrude Knatchbull.¹ She married Andrew Reinhardt Bartenstein in February 1965 at Warrenton, Virginia, U.S.A.^G.¹ She died on 7 May 2006 at age 75 at Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, England.²
     From February 1965, her married name became Bartenstein.¹
