     Richard Butler was born in 1792.1 He was the son of John Butler and Alice Scully.2 He married Elinor Dillon, daughter of Peter Dillon, in 1831.1 He died on 11 March 1870.1
     Richard Butler was educated at Abbey Grammar School, Tipperary, County Tipperary, Ireland.1 He was educated at Ulverston, Lancashire, Ireland, under Dr Everard (his kinsman through the O'Meaghers of Ballymorris), the coadjutor Bishop of Bordeaux beforeFrench Revolution).1 He lived in 1832 at Suirville, County Tipperary, Ireland, after taking a 90-year lease.1 He lived at Ballyslateen, County Tipperary, Ireland, across the River Suir from Ballycarron.1 He lived He had six other children who died in infancy.1

     Mary Butler was born in 1783.1 She was the daughter of John Butler and Alice Scully.2 She married Patrick Grene in 1803.1 She died in 1805, from a neglected cold, without issue.1
     From 1803, her married name became Grene.

     Thomas Butler was born in 1837.1 He is the son of Richard Butler and Elinor Dillon.2 He married Annie Barry, daughter of James Barry, on 30 November 1867.1 He died on 23 January 1919,.1
     Thomas Butler held the office of Resident Magistrate for Newry, County Down between 1868 and 1872.1 He held the office of Resident Magistrate for Kilkee, County Clare between 1872 and 1877.1 He lived at Ballyslateen, County Tipperary, Ireland.1 He held the office of Resident Magistrate for Mallow, County Cork Clare 1872.1 He lived at Cahirciveen, County Kerry, Ireland.1 He was forced to leave Ballyslateen when the lease was suddenly revoked and renewal refused unless on payment of huge fine to which he would not agree.1
