Theobald Butler was the son of Thomas Butler and Jane O'Meagher.2,1 He died in 1826, without issue.1

Maj.-Gen. Henry Butler was born on 29 February 1828.1 He was the son of Thomas Butler and Margaret Barry.2 He died on 10 May 1907 at age 79, unmarried.1
Maj.-Gen. Henry Butler fought in the Crimean War between 1854 and 1855, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of Legion d'Honneur.1 Between 1861 and 1865 New Zealand Wars.1 His life was saved by a soldier who was awarded the Victoria Cross.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1905.1
