     Lady Susan Catherine Mary Murray was the daughter of Alexander Edward Murray, 6th Earl of Dunmore and Lady Catherine Herbert.1 She married James Carnegie, 9th Earl of Southesk, son of Sir James Carnegie of Kinnaird, 5th Bt. and Charlotte Lysons, on 29 November 1860.1 She died on 27 April 1915.1
     Her married name became Carnegie.

     Lady Katherine Ashburnham was born on 23 November 1841.1 She was the daughter of Bertram Ashburnham, 4th Earl of Ashburnham and Lady Katherine Charlotte Baillie.1 She married Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 9th Bt., son of Sir Charles Bannerman of Elsick, 8th Bt. and Anne Bannerman, on 20 January 1874.1 She died on 30 September 1885 at age 43 at Eastbourne, Sussex, EnglandG.2 She was buried at Crimmonmogate, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG.2 Her will was proven (by probate) on 18 December 1885.2
     Her married name became Bannerman.

     Hon. Edward Brabazon Meade was born on 10 September 1878.1 He was the son of Admiral Richard James Meade, 4th Earl of Clanwilliam and Elizabeth Henrietta Kennedy.2 He married, firstly, Hon. Elizabeth Kate Shelley Gully, daughter of William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby and Elizabeth Anne Walford Selby, in December 1907.1 He married, secondly, Angela Anne Rosing Theresa Maximillian von Thurybrugg, daughter of Thury von Thurybrugg, on 28 June 1910.1 He and Angela Anne Rosing Theresa Maximillian von Thurybrugg were divorced in 1924.1 He married, thirdly, Beatrice Brunner, daughter of Rt. Rev. Douglas Herbert Brunner, on 23 December 1925.1 He died on 13 April 1963 at age 84, without issue.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Boer War in 1900.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 10th Hussars.1 He fought in the First World War, as Aide-de-Camp on personal Staff, and was mentioned in despatches.1

     Hon. Elizabeth Kate Shelley Gully was the daughter of William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby and Elizabeth Anne Walford Selby.2 She married, firstly, Captain Carleton Salkeld, son of Lt.-Col. Louis Carruthers Salkeld, on 24 July 1902.2 She married, secondly, Hon. Edward Brabazon Meade, son of Admiral Richard James Meade, 4th Earl of Clanwilliam and Elizabeth Henrietta Kennedy, in December 1907.1 She died on 26 February 1908, without issue.2
     From 24 July 1902, her married name became Salkeld. Her marriage to Captain Carleton Salkeld was annulled in 1907.2 From December 1907, her married name became Meade.

     William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby was born on 29 August 1835 at St. Andrew, London, England.1,2 He was the son of James Manby Gully and Frances Court.3 He married Elizabeth Anne Walford Selby, daughter of Thomas Selby, on 15 April 1865.1 He died on 6 November 1909 at age 74.3
     He held the office of President of Cambridge Union in 1855.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1858 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)3 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1859 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1860 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Queen's Counsel (Q.C.) in 1877.1 He held the office of Bencher of Inner Temple in 1879.1 He held the office of Recorder of Wigan between 1886 and 1895.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Carlisle between 1886 and 1905.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1895.1 He held the office of Speaker, House of Commons between 1895 and 1905.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1900.3 He was created 1st Viscount Selby, of the City of Carlisle [U.K.] on 6 July 1905.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4

     Elizabeth Anne Walford Selby was baptised on 24 August 1839 at Ightham, Kent, England.1 She was the daughter of Thomas Selby.2 She married William Court Gully, 1st Viscount Selby, son of James Manby Gully and Frances Court, on 15 April 1865.2 She died on 15 November 1906 at age 67.2
     Her married name became Gully. After her marriage, Elizabeth Anne Walford Selby was styled as Viscountess Selby on 6 July 1905.
