Major John Windham Meade was born on 28 November 1894.1 He was the son of John Percy Meade and Helena Frances Walsh.2 He married Grace Dorothea De Salis, daughter of Sir Cecil Fane De Salis, on 6 February 1932.1 He died in 1984.1
Major John Windham Meade was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded twice.1 He fought in the Archangel Campaign in 1919.1 He was Lord of the Manor of Doubles-Earsham.1 He was Permanent President Field General Courts Martial to 30th and 12th Corps of Hanover District and to British Troops in Berlin.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Down in 1956.1
