Major William Brereton was born on 16 May 1723.1 He was the son of William Brereton and Alice Norcott.2 He married, secondly, Harriet Hooley.1 He married, firstly, Marion Edmonston in 1747.1 He died on 13 January 1813 at age 89.1

Janetta Brereton is the daughter of Major William Brereton and Marion Edmonston.2 She married, firstly, George Brereton, son of George Brereton and Alicia Freeman, on 19 November 1771.1 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Robert Kennan, son of Thomas Kennan, in 1783.1 She died in 1825.1
