     Lt.-Col. Cyril Moseley Townsend was born on 8 August 1908.¹ He was the son of Admiral Cyril Samuel Townsend and Mary Elizabeth Moseley.³ He married Lois Isabel Henderson, daughter of David Henderson, on 26 September 1933.¹ He died in May 1997 at age 88 at Torbay, Devon, England.²
