     Patrick French was born in 1583.1 He was the son of Stephen French.2 He died in 1669.1
     He held the office of Burgess of Galway.1 Before 1636 he bought or mortgaged large estates in County Sligo and County Roscommon, though much of them were confiscated by the Lord Depute of Ireland in 1636.1 He was he was allotted 6,000 acres in County Roscommon by Cromwellian Commissioners in 1656/57.1
