     John Dashwood was born on 16 April 1929.1 He is the son of Sir John Lindsay Dashwood, 10th Bt. and Helen Moira Eaton.1 He married, firstly, Susan Boyter Duncombe Shafto, daughter of Major Ernest Duncombe Shafto and Sybil Boyter Johnson, on 12 November 1959.1 He and Susan Boyter Duncombe Shafto were divorced in 1964.1 He married, secondly, Harriet Louise Spencer, daughter of John Philip Spencer, on 17 January 1965.1
     John Dashwood was educated at Eton College, Eton, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He lived in 2003 at 27 Matham Road, East Moseley, Surrey, England.1
