     Sir George Makgill, 11th Bt. was born on 24 December 1868.1 He was the son of Sir John Makgill, 10th Bt. and Margaret Isabella Haldane.2 He married Frances Elizabeth Grant, daughter of Alexander Innes Grant and Frances Ann Rutherford, on 1 December 1891.1 He died on 17 October 1926 at age 57.1
     Sir George Makgill, 11th Bt. succeeded to the title of 11th Lord Makgill of Cousland [S., 1651] on 10 November 1906, de jure.1 He succeeded to the title of 11th Viscount of Oxfuird [S., 1651] on 10 November 1906, de jure.1 He succeeded to the title of 11th Baronet Makgill [N.S., 1627] in May 1907.1

     Frances Elizabeth Grant was the daughter of Alexander Innes Grant and Frances Ann Rutherford.1 She married Sir George Makgill, 11th Bt., son of Sir John Makgill, 10th Bt. and Margaret Isabella Haldane, on 1 December 1891.1 She died on 16 December 1947.1
     From 1 December 1891, her married name became Makgill.1
