     Lt.-Col. Angus David Rowan-Hamilton was born on 15 November 1919 at Farnham, Surrey, England.^1,2 He was the son of Brigadier Gawain Basil Rowan-Hamilton and Phyllis Frances Blackburn.³ He married Jeanetta Rees Lockett, daughter of Lt.-Col. Vivian Noverre Lockett, on 1 March 1949.¹ He died on 11 April 1978 at age 58.²
     He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW and escaped.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1941.¹ He fought in the Korean War, where he was severely wounded.¹ He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.¹ He retired from the military in 1958, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the The Black Watch.¹ Between 1959 and 1974 Cmdt County Cadet Force Perthshire.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1974.¹ He lived in 1976 at Millhills, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹
