     Lt.-Col. Angus David Rowan-Hamilton was born on 15 November 1919.¹ He is the son of Brigadier Gawain Basil Rowan-Hamilton and Phyllis Frances Blackburn.² He married Jeanetta Rees Lockett, daughter of Lt.-Col. Vivian Noverre Lockett, on 1 March 1949.¹
     Lt.-Col. Angus David Rowan-Hamilton was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW and escaped.¹ He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.) in 1941.¹ He fought in the Korean War, where he was severely wounded.¹ He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.¹ He retired from the military in 1958, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the The Black Watch.¹ Between 1959 and 1974 Cmdt County Cadet Force Perthshire.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1974.¹ He lived in 1976 at Millhills, Crieff, Perthshire, Scotland.¹

     From 1 March 1949, her married name became Rowan-Hamilton.
