Lt.-Col. Angus David Rowan-Hamilton was born on 15 November 1919 at Farnham, Surrey, England.1,2 He was the son of Brigadier Gawain Basil Rowan-Hamilton and Phyllis Frances Blackburn.3 He married Jeanetta Rees Lockett, daughter of Lt.-Col. Vivian Noverre Lockett, on 1 March 1949.1 He died on 11 April 1978 at age 58.2
He was educated at Wellington College, Crowthorne, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he became a POW and escaped.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1941.1 He fought in the Korean War, where he was severely wounded.1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He retired from the military in 1958, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the The Black Watch.1 Between 1959 and 1974 Cmdt County Cadet Force Perthshire.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1974.1 He lived in 1976 at Millhills, Crieff, Perthshire, ScotlandG.1
