Lt.-Col. Philip Kay 1
     Lt.-Col. Phllip Kay was born on 10 December 1924 at Derbyshire, England.1 He was the son of Brig.-Gen. Frederick William Lawrence Shepperd Hart Cavendish and Françoise Ellene Laxcelles.1
     Lt.-Col. Phllip Kay also went by the nick-name of Danny.1 He was commissioned on 6 May 1943, in the service of the Royal Engineers.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in the service of the 2nd Special Air Service.1 He fought in the Second World War, with the Marquis in Britanny, and as part of Operation Market-Garden, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He was decorated with the award of Croix de Guerre.1 He fought in the Malayan Emergency between August 1950 and September 1951.1 He was commissioned in November 1951, in the service of the French Foreign Legion serving in Indochina.1 He was commissioned in May 1953 with the rank of Corporal, in the service of the Pricess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.1 He gained the rank of Captain in 1963 in the service of the Royal 22nd Regiment of Canada.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1968.1 He was decorated with the award of Canadian Forces Decoration (C.D.).1 He was decorated with the award of Order of Military Merit (O.M.M.) on 22 December 1973.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1975.1
