     Thomas Dalyell was born in 1572.¹ He was the son of John Dalzell.¹ He married Janet Bruce, daughter of Edward Bruce, 1st Baron Bruce of Kinlosse, on 8 October 1601.¹ He died in 1642.¹
     He was also known as Thomas Dalzell.¹ He was Steward to Lord Bruce of Kinloss.¹ He purchased the estate of Binns, Linlithgowshire in 1629.¹
