     Christopher John Godley, 4th Baron Kilbracken was born on 1 January 1945.1 He is the son of John Raymond Godley, 3rd Baron Kilbracken and Penelope Anne Reyne.2 He married Gillian Christine Birse, daughter of Lt.-Cdr. Stuart Wilson Birse, on 10 May 1969.1
     Christopher John Godley, 4th Baron Kilbracken was educated at Rugby College, Rugby, Warwickshire, England.1 He graduated from Reading University, Reading, Berkshire, England, in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (B.Sc.).1 He was with the Agriculture Division of ICI between 1968 and 1978.1 He was group buyer for the Head Office, ICI Millbank between 1978 and 1982.1 He was International Countertrade Manager for ICI Agrochemicals between 1982 and 2000.1 He lived in 2003 at Four Firs, Marley Lane, Haslemere, Surrey, England.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baron Kilbracken, of Killegar, co. Leitrim [U.K., 1909] on 14 August 2006.3
