     Maj.-Gen. Robert Corcyra Romer was born in 1821 at Corfu, Greece.1 He was the son of General Robert Franck Romer and Emma Lambert.1 He married Helen Gerardine Cloete, daughter of Henry Cloete and Helen Graham, on 7 February 1851 at Pietermaritzburg, Natal, South Africa.1 He died on 21 August 1894 at Whitley, Reading, Berkshire, England.1
     Maj.-Gen. Robert Corcyra Romer gained the rank of Captain in 1851 in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1861.1 He lived in 1881 at 21 Christ Church Gardens, St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England.1 He retired from the military in 1881, with the rank of Major-General.1 He lived in 1891 at 5 Christ Church Gardens, St. Giles, Reading, Berkshire, England.1
