     Gertrude Caulfield was the daughter of James Francis Caulfield.2 She married Major Arthur Meredyth Burke, son of Sir John Bernard Burke and Barbara Frances MacEvoy, on 9 January 1900.1 She died on 23 February 1959.1
     From 9 January 1900, her married name became Burke.

     Brigadier Brian Arthur Burke was born on 10 December 1906.1 He was the son of Major Arthur Meredyth Burke and Gertrude Caulfield.2 He died on 22 October 1963 at age 56, unmarried.1
     He was educated at Cheltenham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1927 in the King's Own Royal Regiment.1 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944.1 He was commander of the 10 Indian Brigade between 1945 and 1946.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1950.1 He was commander of the 27 British Commonwealth Brigade.1 He fought in the Korean War in 1951.1 He fought in the Malaya Emergency between 1953 and 1955, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier in 1954.1 He was commander of the 99 Gurkha Brigade.1 He was Deputy Commander of the (Wales) Mid-West District between 1955 and 1958.1 He retired from the military in 1958.1

     John Burke was born on 12 November 1786.1 He was the son of Peter Burke and Anne Dowdall.2 He married Mary O'Reilly, daughter of Bernard O'Reilly, on 6 May 1807.1 He died on 27 March 1848 at age 61.1
     He wrote the book Burkes Peerage, Baronetage and Knightage, 1st ed., published 1826.3 He wrote the book Burkes Commoners of Great Britian, 1st ed., published 1833, in 3 volumes.3 He lived at London, EnglandG.1
