Sir Nathaniel Alexander Staples, 10th Bt. was born on 1 May 1817.1 He was the son of Reverend John Molesworth Staples and Anne Alexander.2 He married Elizabeth Lindsay Head, daughter of Captain James Head and Cecilia Martha Harvey Lindsay, on 21 October 1844.1 He died on 12 March 1899 at age 81.1
Sir Nathaniel Alexander Staples, 10th Bt. gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Bengal Artillery.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He succeeded to the title of 10th Baronet Staples, of Lissan, co. Tyrone and Faghanvale, co. Londonderry [I., 1628] on 4 April 1859.1 He had one other daughter, who died unmarried.1
