     Major Leonard Augustus Stafford Northcote was born in 1879.1 He was the son of Stafford Charles Northcote and Rosa Annette Wilson.2 He married, firstly, Lilian Cora van Praagh, daughter of J. van Praagh, in 1903.1 He and Lilian Cora van Praagh were divorced in 1914.1 He married, secondly, Ida Testaferrata-Olivier, daughter of unknown Testaferrata-Olivier, 5th Marquis Testaferrata-Olivier, in 1916.1 He died on 20 December 1942.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Army Service Corps.1 He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli, Egypt and the Balkans.1 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Royal Fusiliers, Reserve of Officers.1 He was Commandant of Police at Cyprus.1
