     Sir John Home was the son of Sir James Home and Katherine Home.1 He married, firstly, Marie Sinclair, daughter of John Sinclair, Master of Caithness and Lady Jean Hepburn.1 He married, secondly, Lady Beatrice Ruthven, daughter of William Ruthven, 1st Earl of Gowrie and Dorothea Stewart.1 He died circa 1629.1
     Sir John Home lived at Cowdenknows, Scotland.1 He was invested as a Knight in 1565.1
